BAGHDAD / NINA / International Federation of Journalists, based in Brussels, decided to expel Israel from the membership of the Federation. 

 

 

 

Moaid al-Lami, member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Journalists, president of Iraqi Journalists Syndicate told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that “The International Federation of Journalists decided, during the meetings which were held on Saturday and Sunday in Brussels, to expel Israel from the membership of the Union after a vote for the members of the Executive Committee of the Federation and decision got the approval of (14) states out of 17, against (3) states did not vote. 

 

 

 

International Federation of Journalists also decided unanimously to refuse the request of Journalists Association of the Syrian opposition in its membership, which had applied to join the IFJ membership, which includes more than 140 countries, including Iraq. 

 

 

 

During the meetings, it was discussed the reality of press freedoms in states members and the importance of providing safe climates for journalism and the media, especially in countries experiencing hot events. / End

Vladimir Putin took part in a lengthy telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, President of France Francois Hollande and President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, during which the four leaders exchanged views on various aspects of the crisis in Ukraine. 

 

 

The four leaders welcomed the liberation of the detained observers from the OSCE mission and also saw as a positive step the consultations that took place in Donetsk on June 27 between the parties to the conflict. 

 

 

The conversation stressed the importance of organising contacts of this kind on a regular basis.  An appeal was made to Mr Poroshenko to extend the ceasefire. 

 

 

The four leaders discussed the possibility of sending OSCE inspectors to monitor checkpoints on the Russian-Ukrainian border. 

 

 

Responding to the increasingly serious humanitarian situation in southeast Ukraine, Mr Putin stressed the need for urgent humanitarian aid for this region’s people. 

 

 

Issues related to the signing of an Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union in Brussels on June 27 were also discussed.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Saturday morning with families of martyrs of the 7th of Tir, families of martyrs of Tehran and disabled war veterans.

Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence stressed the need of society and the country to *understand and follow up* the message of the martyrs. 

 

 

Referring to the events in *Iraq*, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: “What is happening in Iraq is the war between 

 

terrorism and 

 

lovers of the west, 

 

and the opponents of terrorism and supporters of the independence of nations.” 

 

 

Ayatollah Khamenei described the 7th of Tir as the arena of complete disgrace for those who claim to support human rights, adding: “Since then, the perpetrators of that crime and the agents of murdering thousands of Iranians have been enjoying the support of westerners and in the present time, they are being welcomed in the U.S. [World Tyrant] Congress and other governmental organizations of that country.” 

 

 

His Eminence reiterated: “While those who claim to support human rights receive with open arms the agents of bloody terror against the people of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran —-which is a victim of terrorism and the violation of human rights—- is accused of such crimes and this is a good standard for evaluating western claims.” 

 

 

Pointing to the bombardment of the Iranian city of *Sardasht* with chemical weapons —-on the seventh of Tir of 1366 by Saddam’s Ba’athist regime—- he stated: “Despite using chemical weapons against the people of Sardasht and before that the people of Halabja [in Iraq], America [The World Tyrant] and Europe {NATO} supported the Ba’athist regime for many years. 

 

 

As long as they could use Saddam, they did not oppose him.  This is another standard for clarifying the truth of western claims.” 

 

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the enemies’ failures during the past three decades have reinforced their grudge against the people of Iran, saying: “Global arrogant powers —-who hate Imam [Ruhollah Khomeini]. . ., the Revolution and the people of Iran—- do not stop hatching plots.  For this reason, the people and officials should be completely vigilant and careful.” 

 

 

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to regional events and said: “Today, *the enemies of Islam have invested in waging domestic wars within nations so that they can pit people against one another* with tribal and denominational excuses.” 

 

 

His Eminence added: “They falsely refer to the events in Iraq as the war between Shia and Sunni, but this war is the war of terrorism against the opponents of terrorism. It is the war of the lovers of America’s [The World Tyrant’s] goals against the supporters of independence of nations.  It is the war of human values against brutality and savagery.” 

 

 

Pointing to the efforts of the enemies of Islam for repeating the events of Iraq in other countries, he reiterated: “Nations should vigilantly keep the enemy’s activities under surveillance and they should know that *the enemy is not afraid of doing anything* for the sake of destroying the independence and dignity of Muslims.” 

 

 

He stressed: “By Allah’s favor, the dear and brave people of Iran have frustrated the enemy until today with unity, vigilance and foresight.

Command of Southwestern Front of KPA Releases Crucial Report

 

 

 

 

The Command of the Southwestern Front of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) released the following crucial report on June 26: 

 

 

On Thursday the warmongers of the south Korean puppet military committed such a grave military provocation as firing shells at the waters of the DPRK side from the waters around Yonphyong Island without any prior notice. 

 

 

This reckless military provocation is an undisguised revelation of their sinister design to ignite a war against the DPRK by deliberately making a clumsy fire on its inviolable territorial waters.  This is fully evidenced by the recent situation prevailing in the hot spot of the West Sea of Korea.

The scathing report by deputy White House chief of staff Rob Nabors says the Veterans Health Administration, the VA *sub agency* that provides health care to about 8.8 million veterans a year, has systematically ignored warnings about its deficiencies and must be fundamentally restructured.

A question about South Stream.  The President of Austria just spoke extensively about how this project is very important and necessary for Austria, but we nevertheless all hear the statements made by the American [World Tyrant] side and the statements coming from certain European officials.  In this regard, how viable are the Russian-Austrian agreements on South Stream, in your view? 

 

 

VLADIMIR PUTIN: You know, we are holding talks with our contracted partners, not with other nations.  Our American [World Tyrant] friends are unhappy with South Stream; they were unhappy in 1962 as well, when we began the gas-for-pipes project with Germany.  And now they are unhappy with this as well. 

 

 

Nothing has changed; the only thing that changed is that they themselves want to supply gas to the European market.  But I assure you, it will not be cheaper than Russian gas.  Pipeline gas is always cheaper than liquefied gas.  Shale gas needs to be extracted, it needs to be turned into liquid, transported across the ocean and then regasified.  This involves a lot of money.  It is certainly more expensive than our pipeline gas. 

 

 

But the Americans are competitors nevertheless.  This is a normal situation.  And they are doing everything possible to break up this contract, same as many decades ago.  There is nothing unusual here.  This is typical competition. 

 

 

Political means are used in this competition as well. They talk about Europe’s overdependence on Russian gas.  We believe that any of our partners have the right to, they can and they should, perhaps, create the most favourable conditions possible for themselves, maintaining contacts and contracts with many partners. 

 

 

We do the same.  Just recently, we signed a contract with the People’s Republic of China.  We will continue to promote our product in developing markets in Southeast Asia and Asia overall.  But this is our natural movement to expand our transport infrastructure. 

 

 

Incidentally, answering your Austrian colleague’s question, I can say that this is not about a desire to bypass Ukraine.  These projects were initiated long ago.  And what about Nord Stream –-was that an attempt to bypass Ukraine?  No.  And what about our Blue Stream to Turkey under the Black Sea?  This project exists and is working.  Is that a desire to put someone in a difficult position?  No, these are simply our direct contacts with Turkey. 

 

 

There is another gas pipeline through Belarus and Poland.  Is that an attempt to bypass Ukraine?  No, we are simply developing our transport infrastructure.  You cannot always insist that we are doing something against someone.  We are doing this in our own interests –-ours and those of our partners.

GROWING CRITICISM OF [PUPPET] ISRAEL’S WEST BANK OPERATION 

 

 

 

Thousands of [Puppet] Israeli soldiers have been combing the West Bank inch by inch, searching homes, crawling into caves and even pumping wells to try to find three teens who [Puppet] Israel says were abducted by the Islamic militant [group] Hamas.

Already pilloried for long wait times for medical appointments, the beleaguered Department of Veterans Affairs has fallen short of another commitment: to attend to the needs of the rising ranks of female veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, many of them of child-bearing age. 

 

 

Even the head of the VA’s office of women’s health acknowledges that persistent shortcomings remain in caring for the 390,000 female vets seen last year at its hospitals and clinics —despite an investment of more than $1.3 billion since 2008, including the training of hundreds of medical professionals in the fundamentals of treating the female body. 

 

 

Army Sgt. LaQuisha Gallmon of Greenville, South Carolina, whose daughter was born two months ago, said she had been authorized to see a private physician of her choice for prenatal visits and delivery.  But because the paperwork hadn’t been fully processed when she went to an outside emergency room for complications in her sixth month of pregnancy, VA has refused to pay the $700 bill, she said. 

 

 

“I called the VA women’s clinic and they told me everything was approved for me to get outside care and I should be getting the packet in the mail,” said Gallmon, 32, who served six years in Iraq, Germany and Fort Gordon, Georgia.
