The Wailing Wall – Part 2

POLITICAL ESSAYS
The Wailing Wall - Part 2
`
`
On the Irish Isle there's two political thing-a-ma-jigs.
`
Both are creatures of the Brits.
`
One of the creatures is out-and-out under the thumb
of the United Kingdom. People outrageously call it
Northern Ireland. The Brits rule it by (a) financing
unofficial paramilitaries on BOTH sides of the so-
called religious divide; and they rule it by (b) finan-
cing an official paramilitary group called the cops,
supplemented from time to time by UK troops.
`
The idea is to use these groups in such a way that
Irish people end up killing and hating each other
while the Brits pose as Law and Order.
`
The other creature is in southern Ireland and calls
itself the Irish Republic. Its role is like that of the
puppet government set up by the Nazis in southern
France after the French defeat in WW2. On the key
issues, the puppet government in southern Ireland
does as it's told by the Brits.
`
How did things get this way? 'Tis a too-long story.
`
But for RIGHT NOW--
`
Under the headline "Outrage over British collusion
in N. Ireland killings," AFP reports:
`
"British police colluded with paramilitaries behind
at least 10 murders in Northern Ireland in the 1990s,
a damning report said, triggering outrage in Dublin
and Belfast and remorse in London."
`
Outrage? Remorse?
`
ACH, WE'VE BEEN FOUND OUT.
`
But so far only partly.
`
There's still the Omagh bombing!
`
The factoids are at:
`
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omagh_bombing
`
But for a better view:
`
{start}
`
Headline from 13th August 1999 Electronic Telegraph:
`
"Inquiry Is Frustrated By Wall Of Silence"

ET reports:
`
"The inquiry into the Omagh bombing has been the
biggest police investigation in Irish history...."
`
The supposed inquiry's nearly a year old. Results: 0.
`
WHY?
`
From a book review in the latest *Human Rights
Quarterly,* published by Johns Hopkins University:
`
"Article 19 is a...[London-based NGO] dedicated to
the systematic and wordwide elimination of censor-
ship."
`
This review focuses on Article 19's October 1997 re-
port, *Deadly Marionettes: State-Sponsored Violence
in Africa.*
`
"The term 'informal repression'...refers to the
`
SECRET GOVERNMENT SPONSORSHIP
OF VIOLENCE
`
AGAINST POLITICAL OPPOSITION TO,
`
AND CRITICS OF,
`
THE GOVERNMENT."
`
"...by covertly sponsoring such violence, national
governments are able to maintain a monopoly on
political power while publicly representing them-
selves as pro-democracy."
`
Let's pause a moment. The State is the monopoly of
ALL power, not just political power. Governments
are agents of The State. They come and go: some-
times appointed or dismissed, sometimes voted in or
voted out. They are "national governments" only be-
cause these agents of The State are agents of the
"nation" of the rulers. There is another nation --
often asleep, sometimes restless, rarely wide awake.
`
Continuing with the book review:
`
"The Rhodesian government [of the '60s and '70s]
attempted to
`
UNDERMINE REBEL FORCES
`
by recruiting
`
TERRORISTS
`
to carry out
`
UNPOPULAR ACTIONS
`
which were later attributed to
`
THE INSURGENTS.
`
"These terrorists, later known as the Selous Scouts,
committed MAJOR ATROCITIES while carrying
out the government's plans to DISCREDIT the
nationalist guerrillas.
`
"Supporting the SAME means of informal re-
pression that were once used to combat efforts for
independence, the new [neo-colonialist!] Zimbab-
we government used gangs modeled on the Selous
Scouts to SILENCE political opponents...."
`
ET concludes its story on a grotesquely ironic note:
`
"Relatives of Omagh victims are directing their anger
at the failure to charge the bombers towards those
who have information, but refuse to pass it on to the
police."
`
-----
`
The ET newsstory's in the UK News section.
`
The book review runs from page 844 to page 849 in
Volume 21, Number 3 of *Human Rights Quarterly.*
`
Footnote 9 of the book review:
`
"...the continual use of informal repression, despite
the change in government, was not surprising be-
cause the new Zimbabwe government had retained
the former head of the Rhodesian Central Intelligence
Organization and the originator of the Selous Scouts
to help coordinate its security forces."
`
There you see the real relationship of government and
The State.
`
The "Conclusion" of the book review lists the several
kinds of informal repression, including of course "the
role of media...."
`
Therefore, I capitalized words in the quotes for
`
EMPHASIS and MEMORABILITY.
`
I format quotes for readability.
`
This critical essay was composed 13 August 1999.

Under the headline "Internet giants join human rights
groups to champion online rights," AFP reports:
`
"Two US human rights groups have said they were
working with Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and Vodafone
to protect civil liberties online."
`
That reads well, but what's it mean in real life?
`
Off we go to Iraq to find out!
`
"To completely seal off ‘Anah from outside world, US
forces prohibit all Internet access, threaten immedi-
ate arrest for anyone going on line.
`
"In a dispatch posted at 3:06pm Makkah [= Mecca]
time Monday afternoon [January 22, 2007], Mafkarat
al-Islam [news agency] reported that US occupation
forces in the city of ‘Anah, about 300km [~186 miles]
northwest of Baghdad shut down all the Internet
cafes and outlets in the city and banned local residents
from getting on line, threatening punishment if they
find any facility providing Internet access in the city.
`
"The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported
eyewitnesses as saying that US troops raided Internet
cafes in ‘Anah demanding [that] their owners...shut
them down immediately and cut all connection with
the Internet from homes, including wireless Internet
connections.
`
"The Americans said that if their orders were not car-
ried out, they would confiscate all the computers and
Internet access equipment in ‘Anah.
`
"They further gave notice that anyone using the Inter-
net was subject to arrest. The Americans said that if
anyone resumed use of the Internet without the know-
ledge and permission of the US military, their offices
and computers would be seized immediately.
`
"With the end of all Internet access the city of ‘Anah
has now been virtually completely cut off from the out-
side world, the correspondent wrote.
`
"The US forces already had shut down all ground tele-
phone lines to and from the city and there is no cellu-
lar telephone service to ‘Anah.
`
"The Americans have also banned the use of satellite
telephones but some residents of the city still secretly
keep satellite telephones that they use for communi-
cations that are absolutely needed."

Superpower Sedition
`
`
Sedition? Well, regime change.
`
One of the principal clauses of The Superpower's
Declaration of World $lavery:
`
THERE SHALL BE NO INDEPENDENCE
`
EVER AGAIN, ANYWHERE
`
In an era when traitors are a dime a dozen, that
clause is anything but abstract. In fact, it's right
up to date!
`
`
"...Microsoft, Google, Yahoo and Vodafone are in
talks with human rights and press freedom groups
to draw up an Internet code of conduct to protect
free speech and privacy [!] of Web users."
`
"'Technology companies have played a vital role...
providing tools important for democratic reform [!]
in developing countries,' said...[the] executive di-
rector of the Center for Democracy and Technology."
`
`
"...psiphon (pronounced “SY-fon”), will be released
on Dec. 1 [2006] in response to growing Internet
censorship that is pushing citizens in restrictive
countries to pursue...programs to gain access to
Western [!] news sites, blogs and other censored
material."
`
"Instead of publicly advertising the required login
and password information, psiphon is designed to
be shared within trusted [!] social circles of friends,
family and co-workers."
`
`
So how might you go about setting up one of these
regime-change circles?
`
1. Find a favorable environment
`
http://blog.newsvine.com/_news/2006/10/31/421864-newsvine-groups-beta-launches?threadId=51275#c355960
`
2. Invite members by chanting the no-borders-any-
more mantra
`
http://ardith.newsvine.com/_news/2006/12/24/494356-writers-without-boundaries-newsvine-collaborations-for-freedom
`
3. Carefully select from those who apply, so members
of the circle are of the right kind...
`
http://ardith.newsvine.com/_news/2007/01/20/529400-a-quick-introduction-to-several-groups-group-memberships
`
4. Be careful. In World War 1, the German BSers
tried to hide the reality of annexation behind the
phrase "frontier rectification." Didn't work.

`
"We don't want to acknowledge we're going to get hit
again in the homeland, but we are.
`
"That's a hard, ugly fact. But it's going to happen."
`
Like the authors of the Iraq Study Group report, the
terror coordinator cannot conceive of
`
ONGOING

payback in The Citadel for The Superpower's crimes in
Iraq.
`
I offered probable examples of that ongoing payback
in my first Expansion of Instability essay.
`
Here's a couple more.
`
"An explosion at a coal-burning power plant [in Mus-
kingum OH] killed a worker delivering pressurized
hydrogen and injured nine others Monday [January

`
"Officials weren't sure what caused the blast...."

flames as high as 50 feet into the air...."

`
He says "It is clear that we need to change our stra-
tegy in Iraq."
`
He says "So I have committed more than 20,000 ad-
ditional American troops to Iraq."
`
Additional?
`
Added to those in Iraq now?
`
OR
`
Added to all those ever sent?
`
Let's ask some folks in West Asia.
`
"[Sa‘d al-‘Ajami] reported in [the Saudi daily news-
paper] ar-Riyad Sunday [January 7th] that the US
had decided to carry out the largest troop rotation
since the US invasion of Iraqi in the spring of 2003.
`
"In February, al-‘Ajami reported, 40,000 US troops
would be brought in to take the place of another
40,000 Americans who are to head home to the Uni-
ted States via Kuwait.
`
"In the coming two weeks the Pentagon intends to
open public bidding by companies in Kuwait and
other Gulf countries for contracts worth US$ 4 bil-
lion to set up logistical support bases in the region
where maintenance of vehicles and equipment
would be carried out.
`
"The activity would all be part of the huge troop
rotation which is now being envisioned after the
US Democratic Party expressed its opposition to
major increases in American troop strength in oc-
cupied Iraq, the paper reported."
`
`
Why logistical support bases around the Persian
Gulf?
`
Let's ask some folks in Turkey.
`
"Despite all the obstructions, nearly 12,000 Turk-
ish trucks/lorries are working in Iraq providing
logistical support for the U.S. and Iraqis.
`
"The volume of Turkish business and investments
has reached $5 billion in North Iraq."
`
Iraq belongs to The Superpower and its Persian
Gulf favorites, not to Turkey.
`
`
Why "more than 20,000" instead of straightout
40,000? Gotta give the Dems whimper room.
`
`
The Con Artist knows about these things. For in-
stance, he knows the difference between
`
Added to those in Iraq now
