DPRK’s Nuclear Deterrent Serves as Treasured Sword for
Ensuring Peace, Building Economic Power

Nuclear deterrent of the DPRK serves as a treasured sword for ensuring peace on the Korean peninsula and building an economic power.

The DPRK has taken measures to bolster up its nuclear deterrent in order to check the U.S. [World Tyrant] increased nuclear threat and war moves, ensure peace and protect the security and sovereignty of the country.

Now that the rival of the DPRK is the U.S. [The World Tyrant] which has nuclear weapons *more than any other countries* in the world, posing constant nuclear threats to the DPRK, it should strengthen its muscle both in quality and quantity to deter the threats.  Peace, prosperity and the happy life of the people can be provided only by powerful nuclear deterrent.

The DPRK has boosted its nuclear force to end the more than half a century-long U.S. [World Tyrant] nuclear threat and blackmail and mercilessly blow up the dens of aggression once a war breaks out.  The mission of the DPRK’s nuclear force is to let the Korean people live in luxury and comfort under socialism to their heart’s content safely in the nuclear power.

The nuclear deterrence of the DPRK is neither a political bargaining chip nor a means of economic dealing.  It is the life and soul of the nation and national treasure of reunified Korea which can never be bartered with anything.

It provides a sure guarantee for defending peace and security

not only in the Korean peninsula

but in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

As the U.S. [The World Tyrant] is waiting for a chance to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK while escalating nuclear threat to it as the days go by, the DPRK was compelled to bolster up its nuclear deterrent both in quality and quantity.  This is the exercise of the just right of self-defence and the peaceful measure from A to Z.

No matter what others [Capitalist China & The New Russian Empire] may say and as long as the U.S. [The World Tyrant] has persistently threatened the DPRK with nukes, it will hold fast to the strategic line of simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and the building of nuclear force.

KPA Will Never Pardon Gangsterism of S. Korean Military Warmongers: Spokesman

The spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA Friday in connection with the fact that a speed boat flotilla belonging to the second fleet of the south Korean navy illegally intruded into the waters of the DPRK side in the West Sea of Korea and forcibly seized a peaceable fishing boat of the DPRK on Thursday night:

22 HP fishing boat “539-52456” belonging to the Ongjin Fishery Station lost its route due to engine breakdown when it was engaged in regular fishing in the waters near Mahap Islet in Ongjin County on Thursday night.

As there was thick sea fog, sailors of the boat dropped an anchor and was judging direction with a compass.

Suddenly unidentified warships appeared and encircled the fishing boat, firing more than 50 bullets.

Speed boats belonging to the second fleet of the south Korean navy crossed the maritime military demarcation line and intruded into the territorial waters of our side all of a sudden.

The gangsters stormed the fishing boat that had its engine barely repaired, beat our sailors with iron sticks, making them fall in a faint.  Then they shackled and blindfolded the sailors and began taking the boat to Paekryong Island.

What matters is that the gangsters threw an iron hook at the peaceable boat that went adrift after losing its route and seized the boat by force although its sailors stated that they did not want to surrender.

Even the Joint Chiefs of Staff of south Korea formally admitted in an official notice sent to the DPRK that the boat was a peaceable fishing boat and normal navigation was not possible due to an engine trouble and that the sailors had no idea of submission.

However, the gangsters of the south Korean navy separated our sailors and forced submission upon them with guns leveled at them on the island.

The KPA General Staff sized up the situation and sent an emergency warning notice through the north-south military hotline on the west coast at 22:20 on Thursday, urging the Joint Chiefs of Staff of south Korea to immediately send back the fishing boat and warning that in case the return of the boat is delayed, that will entail unpredictable consequences.

It, at the same time, took a military countermeasure of immediately dispatching patrol ships of the KPA to the waters where the incident occurred.

Much upset by this, the group of gangsters belonging to the second fleet of the south Korean navy told lies and made excuses that our fishing boat “illegally crossed the northern limit line” and that they seized the boat because it did not respond to several warnings.  It was compelled to hurriedly notify the KPA of the time and place of handover.

As a result, at 01:28 on Friday, our sailors could come back to the motherland aboard the fishing boat.

The sailors have not yet come back to their senses but are still in coma due to the shuddering barbaric atrocities committed by the gangsters who forced submission on them.

The DPRK side will take various measures to prevent abnormal incidents from happening to all fishing boats engaged in fishing in sensitive waters.

But we will never overlook the inhumane and monstrous atrocities committed by the south Korean military warmongers by forcibly seizing the fishing boat and committing gangster-like crimes against its crew.

The KPA will certainly force the group of gangsters of the south Korean navy to pay a dear price for their shuddering atrocities.

Allegations of police killings are chronic in Jamaica, where human rights groups have long asserted that a *culture of impunity* has given too many officers a shoot-first mentality.  Residents of *mostly poor* neighborhoods regularly protest what they insist are unjustified killings by lawmen [?].

Last year, 258 civilians were killed by security forces in Jamaica —-39 more than the previous year in a country long troubled by brazen gangs and illegal guns.

Even with more than 2,200 fatal shootings by security forces between 2000 and 2010, only two officers have been convicted of involvement in wrongful killings.

On the same day the world’s scientists issued their latest report on climate change and the risks it poses to society, the nation’s biggest oil and gas company said the world’s climate policies are “highly unlikely” to stop it from selling fossil fuels far into the future.

Exxon Mobil issued a report Monday on the risks that climate change policies could pose to the value of its assets and future profitability, by coincidence [?] on the same day as the latest paper by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a Nobel Prize-winning United Nations group assembled to assess the science and risks of climate change.

Exxon’s report was in response to the contentions of some shareholders and environmental activists that the assets underpinning the value of Exxon and other fossil fuel companies will be worth less as society restricts consumption of fossil fuels to fight climate change.

The report, the first detailed response to these concerns by a major oil company, acknowledges the need to adopt policies to address climate change.

But it concludes that because oil and gas are so critical to global development and economic growth, governments are “highly unlikely” to adopt policies that cut emissions so sharply that fossil fuel consumption would be severely restricted.

A large explosion rocked a natural gas processing plant on the Washington-Oregon border Monday, injuring five workers, causing about 400 people to evacuate from nearby farms and homes, and emitting a mushroom cloud of black smoke that was visible for more than a mile.

The 8:20 a.m. blast at the Williams Northwest Pipeline facility near the Washington town of Plymouth, along the Columbia River, sparked a fire and punctured one of the facility’s two giant storage tanks for liquefied natural gas.

A secretary with the Patterson School District, about 7 miles away, said it provided three school buses to help with the evacuation.

Caterpillar has avoided paying $2.4 billion in U.S. taxes since 2000 by shifting profits to a wholly-controlled affiliate in Switzerland, according to a report released by Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich.

Levin chairs the Senate investigations subcommittee.  His subcommittee is holding a hearing on the report Tuesday.  Representatives from Caterpillar and accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP are scheduled to testify.

The report says Caterpillar paid PricewaterhouseCoopers $55 million to develop its tax strategy.
