Soldier sentenced for smuggling synthetic marijuana ingredient [and]

Soldiers smuggled spice through Korean, US [World Tyrant] military postal systems [and]

Minju Joson Discloses GIs’ Crimes in S. Korea

A U.S. [World Tyrant] soldier has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for smuggling into South Korea more than five pounds of an active ingredient found in synthetic marijuana.

the case has no *apparent* link to the recent discovery of a *drug-smuggling ring* that involved at least half a dozen people –most of whom are believed to be former or current U.S. [World Tyrant] Forces Korea soldiers or to have some connection to the military– who participated in ordering or selling synthetic marijuana.

Published: December 27, 2012

Arin Bergquist, a former Camp Casey soldier, told the Seoul Central District Court last month that he ordered from a website at least four shipments of synthetic marijuana, also known as spice, ranging from four to 50 ounces each, between August 2011 and January 2012.

Bergquist said he was discharged in October 2011 but returned to South Korea the following month on a tourist visa and continued to sell spice.

He said he distributed it at $400 per ounce to *other* soldiers to sell, including his roommate, Pvt. Michael Lehmkuhl of the 70th Brigade Support Battalion, 210th Fires Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division.  Both men are charged for taking part in the drug-smuggling ring.

Four GIs…from the U.S. Second Division in Tongduchon in south Korea have been seized recently.  They smuggled raw materials for drugs and sold them for a long period.

This crime can not just be considered as a mere commercial wrongdoings but deserves stern punishment as it is a grave *politically motivated* crime of violating the sovereignty and interests of the Korean nation.

The damage the Korean nation has suffered at the hands of the U.S. [World Tyrant] imperialists amounts to astronomical figure.

They are the sworn enemy with whom the Koreans can never live under the same sky.

It is the supreme historical task facing the Korean nation to pull the U.S. [World Tyrant] forces out of south Korea as early as possible in order to hand a reunified country over to posterity and for the Koreans to live in peace.

Special Report – How the UK tax authority got cosy with big business

For Ian Barlow, Britain’s tax authority has gone from being fearsome to being really rather nice.

In the 1990s, when the accountant was head of UK taxation for KPMG, he argued Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) was creating an “increasingly fierce environment” for corporations.

But last month, Barlow, 61, said senior American business executives found the UK taxman’s approach “refreshing.”

“It is a tax authority that is much easier to deal with than their own tax authority, and I think that’s no bad thing,” he said over a banquet of salmon mousse and rib of beef at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Since July, Barlow has been head of the board that develops the UK tax authority’s strategy.  But his change of view reflects more than just his new job.

It’s a sign of a huge shift in the UK tax authority’s approach to tax collection over the past decade.

In 2001, *Labour* Chancellor Gordon Brown directed the tax collector to take a new approach which would come to be known in the financial world as an “enhanced relationship.”  The aim was to lighten the regulatory burden on business.  The authority now says it aims to work closely with *big* businesses in an atmosphere of “mutual trust.”
