Intel Chief Says Personnel Number 100,000
`
A.
`
The Superpower's National Intelligence Di-
rector "challenged those who say his office
has become another bureaucratic layer…."
`
Those who say that are stating a fact.
`
For instance: last week a NID deputy let it
be known that the NID has "requested more
than 1,500 people for his office next year."
To challenge that fact is to lie.
`
But how did the NID go about challenging
the fact?
`
Here's one way.
`
AP quotes the NID:
`
"Intelligence reform has not been a theory-
based experiment…."
`
Laying on another bureaucratic layer is not
intelligence reform. That's first!
`
It's plain corruption. As such the phony re-
form isn't an experiment –it's been proven
to work time and time again!
`
There's nothing theoretical about it –it's
eminently practical: it lines pockets.
`
But how did the NID then go about chal-
lenging the fact?
`
Here's the other way.
`
AP quotes the NID:
`
"Intelligence reform has not been…an ex-
ercise in bureaucratic bloat."
`
Laying on another bureaucratic layer is not
intelligence reform. That's first!
`
It's also not an exercise –marching up the
hill, marching back down the hill.
`
It's not unmindful bloat. It's grab all ya can
get.
`
That's how the NID went about upholding
his implausible denial.
`
B.
`
The NID is backed up by The Superpower's
true believers.
`
The NID claims "Nearly 100,000 Americans
are working in intelligence…."
`
So…
`
A Federation of American Scientists secrecy
expert "welcomed the disclosure" as though
it were really so; and as though NID is code
for GOD.
`
AP quotes the scientist-believer:
`
"Think about all the things going on that we
don't know about." O blessed mystery!
`
The media join the hallelujah chorus.
`
For instance.
`
AP reports a NID deputy (there's more than
one) claims "the overall…intelligence budget
is $44 billion," explaining that this disclosure
got out only because the deputy "goofed" –
thus treating the disclosure as though it were
really so.
`
And the NID Himself lays it on: "Public under-
standing is important."
`
Pray tell.
